2017 Awareness campaign and fundraising
December 18, 2016
In 2016 the Canadian Aniridia Foundation participated in their first Scotiabank Charity Challenge (Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend). Having registered on very short notice and putting together a great team we were able to raise $4340 which was received by the Community Foundation of Ottawa in October. We sincerely thank our participants and hope that they will join us in the 2017 Scotiabank Charity Challenge.
To build on our success in last years event we will be registering once again for the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend in Ottawa and we will be adding two more Scotiabank Charity Challenge events for the 2017 year; the Calgary Marathon, and the Bluenose Marathon in Halifax. This will give us exposure in three of the six Scotiabank Charity Challenges and we hope to add more in the coming years.
Based on the funds raised in 2016 we are setting a target of $5000 per event in 2017. If we meet our targets we will raise $15,000 for Aniridia related research.
We will announce each registration as they are completed and we will start building teams for each race. If you are participating, or wish to participate, in any event for the Canadian Aniridia Foundation please contact us though out website.
